This position focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and optimizing accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a proven ability to drive financial improvements. Key Responsibilities - Manage the month-end close and prepare accurate financial statements to support senior management’s decision-making. - Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions to ensure U.S. GAAP compliance. - Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement automation for greater efficiency. - Partner with Operations to assess project profitability, address performance challenges, and recommend corrective actions. - Handle payroll accounting, ensuring accurate classification of expenses and appropriate payroll liabilities. - Develop and maintain financial reporting dashboards to improve company-wide visibility. - Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, aligning projections with project goals. - Lead and mentor a team of 3 accountants, promoting best practices and ensuring high-quality financial reporting. - Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure vendor agreements align with financial strategies. - Manage the audit process, providing timely and accurate responses to auditors. - Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements. - Supervise sales tax reporting across multiple states, ensuring compliance with local tax laws. Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. - A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. - Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including payroll accounting and project-based financials. - Proven ability to improve financial processes and implement automation for greater efficiency. - Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and financial reporting. - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent leadership, communication, and collaborative skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with project-based accounting and Percentage of Completion (POC) revenue recognition. - CPA certification (preferred but not required). - Familiarity with NetSuite and Power BI for financial reporting.
